Brick Ties

HRST Restraining Tie

Brick ties are required in brickwork and masonry to provide structural stability and to resist wind loads. Brickwork walls are constructed of an outer shell which is thin and must be restrained against buckling. The wind loads must also be transferred on to the load bearing walls. Depending on the material used to construct the inner load bearing wall, suitable restraining brick ties are used in restraining the outer shell brickwork walls on to inner load bearing walls, suitable restraining ties are used in restraining the outer shell brickwork walls on the inner load bearing walls.

HAZ Metal HRST restraining brick ties can be securely and reliably used to restrain the brick walls against horizontal loads. Brick wall ties are made out of round steel and have wavy forms for embedding into mortar joints.

There are two versions that are used for brickwork load bearing walls and concrete load bearing walls.

The restraining ties are used for restraining the brick facing outer shell walls against wind pressure and suction.
